Hello, Everyone
It’s Friday – and in Venice, that’s the perfect day for cicchetti!
What’s cicchetti? Think of it as Venetian tapas: small, delicious bites traditionally enjoyed with a glass of wine (ombra) in a cozy Venetian bar, or bacaro. Today, we’ll show you how to bring a taste of Venice to your own table with a classic cicchetti recipe.
Quick Recipe: Baccalà Mantecato (Creamy Cod Spread)
One of Venice’s iconic cicchetti, baccalà mantecato is a creamy cod spread that’s easy to make and perfect for sharing.
Ingredients:
• 200g salted cod
• 150ml olive oil
• 100ml milk
• Crostini or crusty bread
Instructions:
1. Soak cod for 24–48 hours to remove salt, then poach until tender.
2. Blend with olive oil and milk until smooth and fluffy.
3. Serve on crostini. Garnish with fresh parsley, if you like!
